Beautiful Savior is an Academic Preschool in Boise which is governed by the congregation of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church (BSLC) under the direction of Beautiful Savior's Board of Education. Our staff consists of qualified Christian teachers and aides with years of experience in Early Childhood Education.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of the world. His sacrificial death on the cross in our place brings us into a Father/child relationship of faith with God the Father. We believe that our salvation is by the grace of God and not by our works. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is completely accurate. The Bible is the basis for our teachings. We believe that because God loves us, we are to love and care for each other and learn God's will for our lives. We reach out to you with the love of Jesus, and we hope we can be of service to you and your family.
Beautiful Savior Preschool began under the name "Beginning Years Preschool" in 1990 when a group of parents from the BSLC congregation realized their shared desire for a part-time Christian preschool for their children. They formed a committee which then decided the location, curriculum, and tuition. Just a year after it's founding, the preschool's name was changed to what it is today in order to avoid confusion with the church-affiliated daycare, Beginning Years Child Care. Originally, the preschool offered one class for each age group, but over the years, has expanded to two classes each. When the geographical area was annexed into the City of Boise, our licensing changed to that of the city. Therefore, we currently stand alone under our own city license for childcare.
After graduating with a teaching degree from Concordia University, Chris taught elementary school in St. Louis and then Pocatello for four years. When she came to Beautiful Savior, Chris was on the preschool committee for the first year of the program. In this capacity, she was able to help define the curriculum from the get-go. When the only preschool teacher had to leave, Chris happily took the job, and more than twenty years later, has personally shaped every aspect of the classes into the wonderful program it is today. In her free time, Chris enjoys visiting her grandson, scrap-booking, and watching tennis and Dr. Who.
